We had toured round Central Spain--Madrid, Carcares, Toledo, Avila, Segovia, Salamanca before driving down to Cadiz. So this was a nice change, on the coast with sea views and the hotel suited us fine with its light and airy ambience. The underground car park is handy although expensive at 19 euros per night ( we got rid of the car back to the hire car company after 1 night! as you don't really need a car in Cadiz ) Our room overlooking the pool and sea was lovely and the outside balcony was very pleasant. I think this would be the preferred side of the hotel as the other side predominantly overlooks the park so far more to see on our side. Room very clean and modern---it wasn't our idea of how a room should be designed ( think it must be a cleaner's nightmare) with all of its nooks and crannies and gadgets but plenty of talking points like the less than private facilities and the huge trough like bath big enough for 2 !! The location of the parador is a 10 minute bus ride from the train station or around 25 mins walk. The old quarter with its fabulous streets and alleyways full of bars, cafes and restaurants is within easy walking distance. the city feels so safe with a wonderfully authentic atmosphere--there are tourists of course but this is a truly REAL , lived-in City and all the better for it. Breakfast was a superb spread of everything you could think of ( we did wonder if the bread could have been a bit fresher or crispier) and the staff there were very efficient and friendly. Lovely views out to sea from the breakfast area. Very nice pool area and Caleta beach is literally less than 10 mins walk away. We preferred the beach further down the 'promenade' ( around 35/40 mins walk away) but beware there is very little shade on these public beaches and no sun umbrellas. The locals bring their own which could be purchased in nearby shops within the old centre.

Modern hotel in an excellent location with lovely views. The room was lovely, light, and airy, and the bathrooms were great. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a small mini bar. We were celebrating and so had a junior suite and there was so much space and amazing views from the balcony. The pool looked lovely although it was a little cold while we were there, so we didn’t go in. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice, hot and cold, and friendly, helpful staff. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance and it’s a great location for exploring the city. The hotel is directly opposite a stop for the Hop-on-Hop bus which was great. There is parking available, which was a bonus even though it was quite expensive. We did notice other parking nearby but didn’t look to see how much this was. We arrived the day Spain had the electricity outage, and the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful. A special thanks to the restaurant staff that evening as they were under incredible pressure and were so kind and helpful. Would certainly recommend and would return.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Parador de Cádiz and was thoroughly impressed. My room appeared to be newly renovated, featuring a unique layout that seamlessly integrated the bed, wardrobe, and bathroom. From the comfort of my bed, I enjoyed stunning views of the sea and the adjacent Genovés Park. The young woman at the reception was exceptionally friendly and attentive, providing me with several recommendations for places to visit in the old town, which is conveniently just a 5-minute walk away. Additionally, the hotel is a mere 150 meters from the renowned La Caleta Beach, making it an ideal location for beach enthusiasts. The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of options. However, the only drawback was the use of coffee machines that require plastic capsules. It would be great if the hotel could consider switching to bean-to-cup coffee machines to reduce plastic waste. Overall, I highly recommend the Parador de Cádiz for its modern amenities and prime location.

- Really liked the Room they put us in (623) as I splashed for a Junior Suite and with the room being one below the top floor the views were excellent. -> Breakfast every day was well put together and had a great range of Spanish and Cadiz cuisine - couldn't complain about anything --> the restaurant views for breakfast evey day of the sea were superb and the staff were great at cleaning tables quick. The dinner restaurant is also good for a view of the sunset without leaving the hotel. ---> i decided to propose in the room and it was an excellent private setting. The location to the beach/fort/gardens is also the best in Cardiz, so if you wanted to make any romantic public gestures instead, it would be very convinient Overall was a great choice, my partner said yes and I would book again in future.

Our stay at Parador de Cadiz was perfect from beginning to end. The staff were welcoming and informative, our room faced the ocean and was beautiful, the room was quiet, we loved the pool (cool, but worth it). The location was perfect - near the tapas bars, restaurants and groceries in La Vina and near La Caleta Beach with its beautiful sunsets. Our room also overlooked the lovely Parque Genoves, which was a welcome respite from days of being in tourist centers. There are complaints that the hotel is far from town, which is a bit of a mystery. The Roman Theatre is a very easy walk and a bus runs from the old town every few minutes and is extremely easy to navigate.
